Fabrics

We use high quality natural, environmentally sustainable, soft and breathable fabric that feel soft against the sensitive skin.

For clothing items we use predominantly stretchy fabrics, such as cotton jersey, cotton french terry, cotton ribbing, bamboo jersey and bamboo french terry. For accessories, we also use soft, but non-stretchy fabrics, such as bamboo towelling and cotton poplin.

Cotton Jersey: thin and soft, comfortable stretchy cotton and elastane fabric with good ability for regaining its shape when not stretched (recovery).

Cotton French Terry: a soft, comfortable mid-weight stretchy cotton and elastane fabric. It has a smooth outer surface with loops on the reverse side, making it an absorbent and moisture wicking material. Ideal for wearing in British weather.

Cotton Ribbing: a fabric that makes it easy to get those neckbands and cuffs over your little one’s head, arms and legs. It is just as soft as cotton jersey or cotton french terry, but with a lot more stretch.

Cotton Poplin: a tightly-woven thin, crisp and breathable fabric.

Bamboo: a very soft, light, wrinkle resistant drapey natural fabric, silky to the touch and very absorbent, with excellent wicking properties. As bamboo grows very fast and is sustainably grown, it is also currently one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics. Bamboo jersey is a thin fabric smooth on both sides. Bamboo french terry is slightly thicker compared to bamboo jersey but a lot thinner than cotton french terry. Bamboo is ideal for any weather, as it makes you feel cooler when it is hot and warmer when it is cold.

Bamboo towelling: a very soft and absorbant fabric, similar to your bath towel, but a lot softer.

Many of our fabrics are certified by internationally recognised OEKO-TEX and  Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). These standards govern the organic status of textiles from the harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, packaging and labelling, ensuring that harmful pesticides and chemicals are not used.

We recommend washing on a 30 degree cycle and line drying wherever possible.
